Why we are creating a positive culture for our future generations.

I am going to explain to you why in my opinion, we are creating a positive culture for our future generations because of Auckland's cultural diversity. The reasons that we are creating a positive culture are, Auckland has all different kinds of culture, we accept everybody from different cultures and what their culture is and we celebrate each other’s culture. After you have finished reading this  I hope you will agree with me.

My first reason is that Auckland has lots of different cultures. There is probably hundreds of different kinds of people from other countries and ant that are from different cultures. Having different cultures in our city allows us to learn and meet different people and share our culture with each other.

Auckland has lots of cultural diversity and we accept everybody from different cultures. No matter where in the world they are from we treat each other like we would treat anybody else. A lot of other places in the world do not let people from certain cultures even into their country and if they do they get treated very badly. But in Auckland and New Zealand we treat everybody with respect which hopefully younger generations will follow.

With all the cultural diversity in Auckland there are lots of celebrations of all the cultures. For example there is the Chinese New Year festivals, Mexfestival ( a mexican festival), Diwali festival of lights, Japan day and the Matariki festival. These are just some of the cultural festivals in Auckland. So as you can see there are lots of cultural festivals. Having lots of different cultural celebrations allows us to learn, experience and get a taste of different cultures.

As a result of Auckland's cultural diversity we are creating a positive culture for our future generations. I think if we have lots of different culture to learn from, we accept everybody from different cultures and we celebrate each other's cultures and get to experience it. I think we are creating a positive culture for our future generations and I hope you do to.

Pizza oven

Over the last few weeks, my Learning Common has been working on projects. My project is making a pizza oven. I am in a group with Nathan TK, Bailey and me. We have made a design on sketch up and got some bricks from some old houses. We have drafted a letter to Mitre Ten asking for supplys when we start building the pizza oven. We are now cleaning the bricks by getting the concrete of the bricks. We have got some contact details from a brick layer to get some advice for when we are ready to start building the pizza oven.

Chess Competition

On monday I took part in an interschool chess competition. There were two schools competing in it and it was my school ( Hobsonville Point) vs Hobsonville. In my first game I played a boy from Hobsonville school and I lost but I still played quite well. In my second game I played the boy that won the whole tournament so it was a very hard game but I almost won so I did very well in that game. In my third game I played another person from Hobsonville school and it was a very close game and ended up being stale mate so it was a draw. The next game I played we we both had our King and Queen left at the end and the man running it called it a draw otherwise we would probably go on for days before the game ended. So I had another good result. I was finally playing someone from my own school. I was playing Luke and I one pretty quickly. It was my last game and I was playing Josiah. It was a pretty hard game but I in the end I came out on top. Overall it was a pretty good day and at prizegiving I got a certificate.
